Hungry? Try these on-campus food options

Some days being at school are awful, and since food happens to be a pretty decent antidepressant, MCC has you covered.

Several varieties of vending machines, specializing in drinks, candy, snacks, and even one or two with hot coffee can be found across campus.

First things first, the Student Union. It’s that open space on the second floor with all the couches in it where people occasionally take naps.

The SU can be considered your home base of snacks and the Brooksider Cafe is located here. It’s open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is one of the few spots on campus you can get a hot meal. There is quite a solid selection too – burgers, chicken strips, pizza. That and it also has a punch card system that can get you a free coffee after enough purchases.

Right next to Brooksider is located The Market, a one-stop shop for a large assortment of vending machine items, including microwavable foods. The best part is that it’s open whenever the building is accessible.

Straying away from the home base of snacks, on the first floor by the Stevenson Center is the Grab-N-Go, which is like the Brooksider Cafe but on a smaller scale.

It’s open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The selection might be smaller than the Brooksider, but includes pizza and a limited selection of sandwiches.

On the first floor toward the library is the Cyber Cafe, a little nook that’s easy to miss. Hosting a microwave and three vending machines, it’s a small hotspot great for meeting with others, studying, and most importantly getting a snack.
